If the world needs anything, it's fewer movies about Jesus. Give it a rest...

I know Gibson is a real diehard Christian,he is Catholic, but at least he is Christian. He can say a whole church service in Latin.Wow.
And since Gibson is working on this,I think it will work out well.I look forward to it.
And it would be cool if this was in the main theaters, but I doubt it.Christian movies need to make it big.I was going to see Luther, but it was out of theaters in no time, damn people would see 2 Fast 2 Stupid...

i think that since it's a big controversal film, a lot of ppl would see it so they can see what's the big deal. die hard christians would see it cuz it's about their god. atheists will c it cuz ppl it say it depicts christ bad and a friend of mine whose atheist said that'll give them more fuel for their fire. I wanna c it cuz it looks good. Plus Jim Caviezel is a die hard catholic and he plays christ and Jim is fine. i think that's enough of a reason 4 me.

www.thepassionofthechrist.com/It comes out February 25 (Ash Wednesday) The only bad thing I see about this movie is that it's not in English. I believe it's subtitled and is spoken in Aramiac and Latin. It looks good but I'm sure a lot of people will say it's anti-sematic because it shows the Jewish people killing Jesus.

"Gibson is a more truculent Catholic. He scorns the Second Vatican Council, which in the 1960s replaced the Latin Mass with the liturgy in the language of the people and lots of perky folk songs. To Gibson, Vatican II "corrupted the institution of the church. Look at the main fruits: dwindling numbers and pedophilia." He might also have noted that Catholicism flourished in those countries where it became a church of liberation — where priests welded traditional doctrine to radical social reform." Time Magazine..

To say the least it should be interesting. People will make a big deal because it attmepts to accurately depict Jesus' life as told in the bible. Did people make a big deal about "Jesus of Nazareth", that tv movie?
I don't see why Jew's are claiming its antisemetic. Jew's condemmed Jesus. Its history.
And atheists don't need to use it for fuel for their fire, they should use it to come to believe in God. Perhaps some will if Mel Gibson does a good enough job.

Have you tried telling that to any atheist lately? I agree, I don't think that someone who never believed in God is going to come out of this movie instantly believing. I mean, they obviously have reasons for not believing. And though i know why I believe, I don't see how someone is going to know why Jesus accepted, and took up the cross, to die for us by watching this movie. Unless its says straight up why He sacrificed himself, in the movie, I don't think that people are going to just come out of the movie believing.
