I agree, I don't think that someone who never believed in God is going to come out of this movie instantly believing. I mean, they obviously have reasons for not believing. And though i know why I believe, I don't see how someone is going to know why Jesus accepted, and took up the cross, to die for us by watching this movie. Unless its says straight up why He sacrificed himself, in the movie, I don't think that people are going to just come out of the movie believing. well...seeing that this movie encompasses the entire focus of the Gospel...I would be amazed if no less than a hundred people do not come to Faith...i would give a thousand as a short estimate... and Ben...Man or no Man..you are going...im making you...

Okay...the hand that puts the nails into Jesus' wrists and ankles...is Gibsons hand...he wanted it to be himself that crucified him...he takes a large responsibility...and i am extremely hyped for this movie...Gibson is a very conservative Christian and i think because of this he will do an amazing Job...
and sean...i think that they should spend as much money as possible...I think it will have the longest playing time since Matrix...maybe LOTR...because it has an automatic set audience of at least 75% of christians (claimed to be) and many others...thats like half the world..

Haven't they had enough Jesus movies yet? If you want to see a good movie with that subject matter, see Life of Brain or Dogma. Hell, Kevin Smith's a Catholic.
And any atheists that want to see that in order to say that Jesus was a bad person are stupid. I'm atheist, and I still think Jesus was an alright dude. At least he died for something he believed in. See, the problem us intelligent atheists have is not with the beliefs themselves; it's great to have faith if it helps you. It's the people who corrupt and take advantage of those beliefs in order to hurt other people for their own personal gain who piss us off, so we separate ourselves from it.

I actually liked Jesus Christ Superstar. For some odd reason it entertained me. I started singing it out loud in the middle of art class and it freaked out a bunch of freshmen.

Heh heh, Freshmen. They're all right. I'd like to see this movie because it looks to me to be something that will be faithful to what is believed to have happened. Pun intended. I also agree with sixswitch, its being performed in the original languages will add to the effect.
