I can point you out to a book to back me up. I did a report on stem cell research last year for Bio (the teacher gave me the hardest topic). According to my very skimpy notes, they become sentinent after 28 days. "Espejo, Roman. Human embryo experimentation. Detroit: Greenhaven Press, 2002. 79pgs." --Cut and paste is my friend--- To Demon, I don't understand how my brain works sometimes. -__- To Seiryuken, preach it brotha... *tear* I'm so proud of the board. So much participation and passion. edited: I type slow...grr.... i get what your saying now i think.

I just found it funny reading all the different posts and what seemed to be "facts" or "opinions." And when some posters dragged religious views into the subject, it just got worse. First of all, I've looked for it and found that homosexuality was not only included in the Bible, but it was endorsed.
As for my own opinion, I too have some gay friends and I don't mind that. However, there is no "solution" or anything near it as you all are talking about. Some say treat gays as you would treat straights. Some say put the gays down in order to punish them. This is starting to reflect the old racism in the South. Let's set up a scenario.
The blacks are lynched in the South, segregated and hated for being what they are. So they pass laws to make blacks equal to whites. Everything's fine and dandy....or is it? Nowadays, it is severly racist to call a black person the N-word. You can get sued or otherwise penelized for saying one little word. If a black person calls a white person a stupid honkey, nobody cares. The equation is the same everytime. Someone is segregated, laws will get passed which stops this, then the group has a shield. Nobody can touch them, but they can do almost whatever they want. Then, before long, the oppressed become the oppressors. It just doesn't work.
Applying that equation to gay people, if we treat them badly, someone will come along and say hey, these are humans, so we cant call them names or segregate them. Then, everytime you go out in public, like a restaurant or public park, you will see transvestites and homosexuals, hermaphradites and prostitues everywhere. The world will turn into the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Then again, if we let them become part of society and accept them, the same thing will happen. There is no getting around this issue no matter where you stand on it.
(sorry for the long post)

I totally agreed with some of the points you just brought out but one thimg I think your wrong about is when you said the Bible endorses homosexuality, and if you don't mind I would like you to post the chapter and verse where it says that homosexuality is right.

Dammit, I know as soon as I posted that, someone was gonna ask me to post what verse, and I know it's gonna sound really really bad, but I don't have it. I asked my morality teacher last year if homosexuality is wrong or right, and what the Bible says about it. He showed me a passage that was in the Old Testament, I would say about a little past half way in the book. It said something close to "and after the festivities the men prayed to God and afterwards became intimate." and it goes on to say that this was not a sin, and God didn't punish them or tell them it was wrong. It was bassically saying that these men had sex and God was ok with it.
I'm so damn sorry I don't have the verse number. But I will try to ask him about it next time i see him.

Then I'm sorry, but your morality teacher is educated beyond his intelligence because back in Genesis God destroyed a whole city because of sodomy, and the Bible says God never changes so get my point.

Well, I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't purely sodomy, I think it was prostitution and promiscuity also. And have you ever noticed that the Bible is a book. A book has authors. In the Bible's case, many many authors. Conflictions do occur in the Bible, and the Church blames most of it on the different writers. You can't say something is true PURELY because it's in the Bible.
Oh and by the way, if you are about to burn me for "contradicting myself" because earlier I said that homosexuality is promoted in the Bible then I just said that you can't say something is true because its in the Bible, then it won't work. I never said that homosexuallity is perfectly ok because the Bible says so, I merely stated that many people will find it surprizing to find that it is actually endorsed, in a way, in the Bible, a book many people follow closely (a bit too closely if you ask me)

God didn't change the law was lifted we're in the age of grace now since Jesus died for our sins the punishment for our sins can be forgiven easier than back in the OT where they had to live a basically perfect life by the letter of the law.

Uh.....no.
The Old Testament was a book written full of laws and "myths" about early Jewish people. A law-enforcing God cannot be gentle and kind (like he was in the creation story in Genesis) He had to whoop ass everytime someone sinned or broke the rules. New Testament was bassically all about Jesus. You don't hear too many storys about guys and God, it's mostly Jesus and how glorious he is. And when God is mentioned, he is gentle and peaceful. It had nothing to do with Jesus' death.

Dude when Jesus died he fulfilled the law so we wouldnt have to go sacrifice a animal every time we sinned which is what they had to do in the OT for atonement but Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice so we could just call on his name once and be washed from ALL our sins

What the flying fuck does that have to do with different people writing the Bible? Yes, that did happen, but that doesn't disprove that there were different depictions of God, and that still doesn't disprove that there are contradictions in the Bible. You're getting too off subject on the discussion, I'm not getting mad, I'm just saying I really wanna argue, but let's stay on the same subject.

Fuck what reliigion says about gays. Cristianity is just one opinion. Try looking at it from a non-biased point of view. Think for yourself, for shit's sake. So someone wants to screw guys instead of girls. BIG GODDAMN DEAL. It really matters not what an invisible robed man up in the clouds says about ass fucking. Keep in mind that The Bible was written by men, not God. They could've taken anything they wanted to and added their own twist, especially if they were homophobic. Who you fuck has no connection whatsoever with how good of a person you are.
