good...you just like on better...that is well said...
and yes...hendrix is very much blues, not straight blues, he had rock, he had psychodelic rock, he had psychodelic blues progressive sketchy rock.
you can just keep on catagorizing it...but it has a lot of blues, the bass...a jazz drummer, a guitar tone and pattern (not riff, key pattern) that was bluesish...
so he had a lot of blues, a lot of rock...a lot of a lot, he was amazing....so he did a lot all over the board...

hendrix was not blues kenny! just like the shins sound like jefferson airplane, which they dont. stevie ray vaughn blows. its all about skip james. he sings some creepy ass blues. hes got the best voice(or the worst) and he sung "im so glad" and cream covered it. you know youre sweet if cream covers you. i dont think cream ever covered "SRV". no, no they didnt.

wow kenny, one song sounds like the shins. Maybe if you actuallt listened to the Shins then you would know that their different sound styles cannot be covered in one song/ also just because clapton writes part of his biography doesn't mean that hendrix is blues. Hendrix copied clapton's songs not the other way around dipshit

I think you just talked yourself retarded there. First of all, Clapton did "cover" one of Stevie's songs in a tribute. Second of all, Cream didn't cover SRV cause Cream just plain blows. Clapton is ok, but Cream blew. Lastly, you don't know anything about music and who is great at it, so don't involve yourself in conversation you know nothing about.

One guy who is pretty awesome is Joe Satriani. I've listened to a couple of his songs... there nuts.
But that's a different category than what's on this list...

no one has Satriani here. the names listed are really great guitarists, that is not in argument... but Joe Satriani is one amazing guitarist. who agrees?

Satriani is pretty good, definetly more modern and different than Hendrix and the rest.
I never flamed anyone, I just said that he didn't know anything about music, which was my opinion, and I can see how it could be viewed as rude or mean, so in that sense I take it back. Whatever, though, I don't wanna get caught up in a huge arguement about whether or not I flamed and stuff like that. I think there are tons of great guitarists out there, many of which are not named here because of the style of music. Not too many people on these boards like Death Metal, so Kerry King, and Zakk Wylde aren't even mentioned, but they are still "Guitar Gods." It seems to me the target group of guitarists needs to be narrowed, like the Guitar Gods of Today or something. Either that, or the fact that there are many "gods" that weren't even mentioned yet, so it would be hard to count all of them.
