ok in my opinion there has only been one war that was unjust. that was the war we decided to have in somalia against adid and his militia. they posed no threat to the united states.it was a civil war that we should have gotten into. during the only major battle we had in that war we lost 17 men and 79 men were wounded.we only sent 130 men into somalia. Somalia needed to settle this civil war themselves.the united states shouldnt have gotten into it. Clinton should have just ignored what was going on. And ill just add (although everyone knows) that Clinton was a democrat. That is what happens when a democrat gets into office. They bitch-it-up when a republican such as GW goes to war, and when they get into office they go and jump into something and screw it up. They oppose war when a republican choses it so that they can make him look bad. We definitely should not have gone into Somalia. But we definitely should have gone into Iraq because it is a direct threat and there is an objective that we could achieve, and we are in the process of doing that now.

War is wrong whenever you look at it from a moral standpoint. The Church almost always opposes it because even though it may bring about a greater good, it still causes evil to be done, no matter how you look at it.
Yet I believe that some wars are necessary in this secular world. They often occur to bring people liberties that are denied them by oppressive governments, most commonly the liberty that guarantees a right to life. That is partly what we are doing in Iraq now. We are eliminating the old regime and restoring some liberty (as much as possible) to that country. When we are finished, we will gradually pull out and leave Iraq to function as a substantial democracy by itself. So I judge this war to be 'right', moral to the extent that it brings about a greater good, but not entirely moral.

ok but God has had people go into war. He sent David into war against Goliath and his army. And he gave Joshua extra sunlight to defeat the enemy army he was fighting since in that time the fighting would stop the moment it became too dark. So isnt God head of the church. so your saying that what God did is wrong?so i guess your allowed to judge God on his decisions on what to do? so by saying that i guess your saying your better than God and have more power than him?

ok but God has had people go into war. He sent David into war against Goliath and his army. actually God sent David to battle goliath one on one, not the whole army, in order to end a war that was already going on. but anyways, i think war is a human reality that we have to come to terms with. sure, id prefer eternal world peace, but its not at all realistic. also, i strongly believe in the U.S. being a protector of democracy but more importantly freedom. hence i support the iraq war, and afghanistan.

actually God sent David to battle goliath one on one, not the whole army, in order to end a war that was already going on. David also became a very well known war leader. he conducted many wars while he was king of the jews.

Those Biblical accounts are from the Old Testament; "eye for an eye". God established a new covenant with man recounted in the New Testament; "turn the other cheek". God guided his chosen people, the Israelites, through their journeys, which included many wars in which God commanded them to fight, and in fact helped them. God saw those wars through and so they were "right" because they were instructed by God, and God can not be wrong...ever. I can be more specific in saying that wars initiated by man alone, more secularly oriented wars, are morally wrong to the extent that an evil is done to bring about a greater good. However, if God commanded the Church or the US to go to war with some nation for some reason, it would be justified because it is justified by God. No im not saying that im better than him and have more power than him - and you know that too. So don't say it. Thanks.
