You never can trust the government with what it tells you about war. You're spoon fed by either a fully liberal media source, or one that is fully conservative. With one-sided mouthfuls of re-fried cow crap, no one can seriously know the truth behind a war. For example. We went into Iraq because we had leads that informed us that Iraq had biological weapons...but we cant tell you who. And they are a threat to the US, no...the people of Iraq, no...a threat to the peace in the middle east...no...the entire world. Who are we to beive to see if a war is justified or not. Who can we trust? Obviously not the government, and obviously not the media. Thus, with todays times, one is incapable of viewing a war as right or wrong.

Reply to the silent deamon fomr the political compass, I didn't say I didn't agree wioth the art of war. I said I disagreed with the "principles of just war".
Reply to Admin: Scott if you were going to move it you should have doe so a long time a go, such as after page 3. Why now? Why close a popular discussion place, just becasue...you hate Jesus (you know who) hatting?...you dislike the opinions of some people?
Anyway, Ithink that this may have been a good move so discusions can be alittle more focused and not as random. I just don't agree with the reasoning behind the move.
Also...diffrence between Admin and Global Mod...ABOSLUTE ZERO. Just trying to make Jesus feel better, yep thought so?

This is just more libral conspiracy crap. I belive I have covered most of this in previous posts. Point 1: Not just leads we kenw for a fact that Saddam Hussien's evil regime had biological weapons. We have found evidence of such weapons and we have know his to use these weapons against his own people!Yes bio weapons are a threat to everyone. Anyone who dosn't belive so is foolish! Bio weapons do not have to be mounted in missles either. They can be put in just about anything WITHIN REASON (added with capitlization for all you misquoteing libbies! ) and transported anywhere WITHIN REASON (same as before ). Point 2: We can trust the medi if we look at it objectively. Obviously Al Jazira West (ooopps!! sorry I meant CNN) can not be trusted becasaue its avocal point for dirtty traitors who should be charged for treason like Peter Arnet, and a vocal point for the French, who lets face it hate America. This means as citizen of the United States each of us can make our own opion of whether or not the war was justifed. Let me state again I respect everyones right to have an opinion, I just don't respect certin peoples opinions becasue they are unfounded, historically inaccurate garbage!

My oppinion on war is this: War will always be wrong in my eyes, whether it is nessessary or not. In my oppinion, it is the closest thing to hell on earth. I know that it is unavoidable sometimes, but it is still a horrible evil inflicted on the world. It brings hate, fear, and misery to all who are affected by it. nobody really wins in war. everyone loses something.

I do not believe that justified war is wrong, but I don't like the whole death aspect. For those of you who think that the "war" with Iraq isn't justified, come to Dearborn.

We're talking about much more detailed aspects of war. And Jeff, I don't know if I would use the word "trust" in the context you used. You can use the media as a source of information if you realize its bias, which inherently means you can't trust them. Only if you receive information from all sides of the story are you able to form a real logically consistent opinion.

Amen. In my eyes war is always wrong. "No glory in a war" It's not like he said anything that profound man... In fact, it's quite the opposite and I'm agreeing with Garth. What he said was trite and more or less meaningless...
