Yes homosexuals should be treated with compassion and charity. But it doesn't change the fact that homosexuals, even if they do not participate in homosexual acts, are wrong to begin with. They shouldn't be persecuted for it because there is chance that they can come to see the right, and follow it.

umm...i thought it was the gay sex that made you gay...i must have missed something...and it isnt the person thats wrong, evil, or anything but human...its the act, their act is in the wrong...i say this ackowlidging that many of my acts are in the wrong too...i don not condemn, but i do not call them righteous either...

As a muzlum, I think that homosexuality is wrong as long as it is limited to sex. If its anything else, its wrong Hey, as a muslim i think homosexuality is fine. I'm just curious though, i'm not the greatest muslim in the world and i wanted 2 know praisebeallah, if anywhere in the koran does it say that homoseulity is wrong. Correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems as though you are saying due to my religion i think homosexuality is wrong.. cuz if you are saying it like that what do you base that on? |

ok...my school just got a "gay straight allience" i do not support it at all...i think that the idea of an allience is horrible, is that saying that before now we were at war? or that we hated each other? i mean making it an allience suggests previous tension, or worry of tension, which is sad...

Grrr. I said I wouldn't get back into this debate but here I am....again...I promise to make it short...as short as I can...
The whole purpose of the alliance is not to be at war or whatever. We have had it at my school for years. I've even went to a couple of meetings. It's meant to be a support group for gay and lesbian teens, as well as those who are sympathetic towards their cause of becoming accepted. Of course there has been previous tension! Threads like this prove it! There have been many reports of people in the gay and lesbian community who have been prejudiced against and a lot of times beaten for their beliefs by ignorant people. The GSA is a place where they can talk openly without being judged by ignorant people and share the crap they went through. You make it sound as if they're planning a conspiracy. -__-

i didnt say that...but the idea of an allience forming suggests that it is nessecary...and there isnt a problem in my school with homosexual, bisexual, or homophobic relations or prejiduce...and the poster said, "help us preven homophobia"...does that suggest that they can? with the "privacy of a club" they arent going out and doing stuff...and homophobia is a fear, you cant talk to them if your gay and they know it...they are freaking afraid of you!
i would strongly support an anti gay prejiduce club, but not an allience...we are all people, we dont need an allience, arent gays trying not to be outcasted?
