Until anime starts getting more respect in America, people won't spend the money to get decent voice actors. Keep in mind that from Disney to Looney Tunes to Nickelodeon, animation in America has evolved as something that's always been for kids. And since kids are too stupid to notice terrible voice acting when they hear it, the tradition comtinues with anime. While watching DBZ as a young'n I had no problems, but watching it recently made me shiver every time Vegeta opened his mouth and said something in his pseudo-Australian accent. That is why sub is always better. It's actually considered an art form in Japan. And subs aren't that hard to find in america these days. Nearly all anime DVD's now have the option to change to Japanese. If you only have VHS, then you're just screwed.

I definately have to say sub. They have so much more emotion in the original context and the episodes are whole. If you need more convicing, look at the CCS originals and the dubbed. They cut seens out in almost every episode, and most of the endearing love-lines are eliminated, to name a few things.
