Jesus od, you people have never seen it? It's one of the most famous anime movies of all time and space. I've seen it probably a dozen times, in both languages, in DVD and VHS form. Excellent, excellent movie. However, you'll have to see it a good 5 times to even know just what the hell happens at the end.
The manga is even better, being separated in to 6 volumes at about 300-400 pages each. Yup, it's a 2,000 page manga, but getting all 6 volumes will cost you a bit over $120.
