In other words
Does anyone go to great lengths to get their anime, ie order from a special store and prefer it subbed to dubbed.
Dubbing removes the very life and spirit of anime usually. Prime example: Love Hina! AAAAAARGH!

Well in a Southern part of Georgia (USA) it's not easy to get PRIME anime so I usually either download it or order it on-line.
I have alot of subtitled Trigun but the dub isn't god awful like some ...

As Christophomicus (Fuckin Long names...) knows, I'm the the as hardcore on anime as him, but I do like it and prefer it NON dubbed and censored cause it squeezes the jap culture out of it all IMO.

I get all of my anime and manga at this gamer shop by my house. My friend works there so I get it on her discount thinggie. All anime is subbed. I haven't yet seen a dubbed that was half-decent. What I can't buy there I download (which is supposed to be very immoral and illegal...). Gotta have my anime...the police might be knocking at my door one of these days I hear.

diehard you say. try flying across 3 states to go to one of the biggest anime conventions ever, like me and sixswitch. or in sixswitches case have almost every box set ever created or in my case downloading 24 manga comics of berzerk just to see what happens, even though i pretty much already knew. oh and about the subbing dubbing thing. i completly agree try watching ninja scroll dubbed and u will probably never watch it that way again. its so much more ninja like with the japanese dialog

If I had money, I'd fly to anime conventions. I guess I have to make due with Anime Expo (it with totally kick ass this year) and Comicon (a lil' lame). Being an anime otaku is a serious drain on my Menchi piggy bank. Is there a difference between obsessive and diehard? I'm probabbly obsessive then. When you know the lyrics to at least a dozen anime themesongs in japanese (yet know no japanese), cosplay (I make a bitchin Makoto), and write anime fanfiction...Wow, I read that and only now realize what a loser I am. -__-

why do people constantly make fun of themselves on this board. come on now have some self estime, you should be happy that you love anime just as much as everyone else. nobody thinks less of you just because you voice your addiction differently than everyone else. i think its safe to say we are all obsessive and diehard in our own respects

I admit, I am probabbly the most vain, self-centered bitch you'll ever meet (though I hide it well). The internet and the real world are two different things (no matter how much time you spend online ^__^). I can't exactly go parading down the hall shouting I write fanfiction and the like (exageration). Loving anime and being president of the Anime Club will never make me prom queen (should I care to run) so I don't want to damage my reputation (not that I have one) by divulging this info to my crush. I've told my friend my aspirations of being a voice actress (among other things) and she just looked at me like I was crazy and told me maybe that's why I don't have a boyfriend. -__- I don't want to get too deep into my personal life but I live in the jungles, and if you don't know what that means, you don't know where I'm coming from.. Even in L.A., people refer to anime as cartoons and I'm supposed to be too old for them. Blame society. So um...yeah, I hope you know where I'm coming from.

a lot of people label anime as cartoons, its not just in LA. you will find dumb people everywhere, people who can't find the deeper meaning in things. thats just the way most people are. thats why we are special

I'm glad you enjoyed my site. ^__^ I wouldn't consider my website thought provoking though. It's on Hiatus due to me being on punishment...I'm not even supposed to be on now. I just got on to update my fanfics at fanfiction.net (penname=Sarien). Probabbly won't be around here for a bit. edit: maybe I should take a typing class

I admit, I am probabbly the most vain, self-centered bitch you'll ever meet News to me...you joined this board witch was pretty kind! And thanks again for doing so. I guess I would say diehard,as in watching and buying and reading and all that jazz. As for the whole dubs,I only like Cowboy Bebop, everything else is subbtittled for me.
