(clears throat) Return of the King, as the best movie made up to this date (and probably ever) deserves, easily, Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Sean Astin, my hero), Best Song (Into The West), Best Score, Best Cinematography (if you recall, Fellowship of the Ring won that), Best Costumes, Best Motion-Captured Character, Best Actor (Ian McKellen and Viggo Mortensen), all those technical awards, the one that says Peter Jackson should be allowed to make whatever stupid movie he wants to now, and the one that says anyone who didn't like it should kiss my ass. And Howard Shore should get a medal that says he's on the same level as John Williams. When the extended DVD comes out this fall my life will be complete. This is the movie of the epoch, not just of the year.

Best Cinematography (if you recall, Fellowship of the Ring won that), Best Actor (Ian McKellen and Viggo Mortensen) Unfortunetly, the movie did not get nomintaded for these two things. But hey, the movie award people are full of shit anyways. I doubt they will even give ROTK movie of the year...

i think ROTK was indeed the best movie. But Master and Commander was good too, just not AS good.

Lost in Translation is a great movie and should have won something (didn't watch the festivities so I don't know if it did or didn't). Anyways, Bill Murray did a greeeat job along with the lady who played beside him...forget her name...

And now the issue comes up, now that Return of the King has won Best Picture, or whether the trilogy deserved the awards every year or if just this year is enough to honor this amazing piece of cinematic history. I think they're all great, but as a whole is where this epic truly shines. I also think that the MSN article stating that they thought Return of the King shouldn't have won this year was bullshit; when else could they have won and if not it may have meant the end of American society as we know it. Because the Academy would be dead by now. And Master and won for cinematography ... holy shit! The cinematography in all 3 Lord of the Rings movies was unbelievable, so I'll have to see Master and Commander and see what beat out the battle on the Pelennor fields, or the lighting of the beacons. 'Cuz DAMN! I better shit myself while watching it or else I'll be pissed. That would be a suitable reaction if it actually was better than that of the Trilogy. Which was the best ever, in my somewhat narrow-minded opinion. I think narrow-mindedness is fine in this particular case, though.

Its pretty neat how everyone voted for The Return of the King. And it won. And WOW it got the most Oscars ever from one movie, 11. Though some others have also achieved this in previous years, none have gotten more.

Wasn't seabiscuit about a horse? ...hahaha... and did anyone even see Lost in Translation?
That's a crappy list (no offense horse lovers or lovers of crappy movies). I did like the 3rd Lord of The Rings though, I thought it was pretty good. I hope that one wins...or that it did.
