What do you think about these movies in comparison?

Sam or Ron Weasly (sp?)
Gandalf or Professor Dumbledorf (sp?)
Sauron or 'the bad guy from Harry Potter' (sp? j/k)

well its all lord of the rings...they acctually do stuff...not just sit there...talk...complain...and then get lucky...

yeah its pretty amazing when you look at the background of the LotR series. Tolkein created whole languages like elven and stuff, and made up the entire lineages of royal families from the elves and men. I started reading teh index at the back of the third book and i quite b/c there were like a million-bagillion names.
And i think the badguy from Harry Potter is that evil wizard that killed Harry's parents....i think at least. I don't know much from HP i only watched the movies. Valdimort i think is his name.

well, lets say this, in lotr, they see magic as bad, but in hp, they praise magic as though it we good. thats a good compare and contrast thing.... i hope....

I like LOTR a lot more. Like it has been said, it has more background, characters with deep personalities, a host of sexy char, and is...well, a classic. HP I got sick of after the third book and first movie. Dear God, there are going to be like two more books and 5 more movies...joy...
Frodo has more courage then Harry or at least is the most endearing because he has the strength of heart to fight the pull of the ring. But Harry has magic and could turn Frodo into a bunny or something.
Sam or Ron Weasly....Ron is adorable and so is Sam....But, this isn't a look into their physical characteristics. Sam I think is a bit of a coward and maybe gets jealous easily where as Ron is a goofy little boy. HP characters are hard to take seriously. Again with the magic, Ron would do disapparate Sam or some other fancy term.
Gandalf or Professor Dumbledorf. Gandalf would win. Or at least as Gandalf the White. He has lots of power but doesn't brag about it and only uses it when necessary. I guess the background of magic is so different in both worlds that Dumbledorf can do more without being afraid of dying or something.
Sauron or 'the bad guy from Harry Potter' (Voldemort-sp). We don't really get to know a lot about them, their powers I mean. Sauron commands like a 200,000 army where as Voldie (hehehe) has about a hundred death eaters and is not at full power. Sauron also killed more people so he wins.
Yeah, a little long post but I'm stalling since I don't feel like doing my hw. -__-

LotR by far
the books were a heck of a lot better and the movies are way more entertaining

well the LotR movies kick the harry potter movies ass. the movies for harry potter suck, and the LotR movies are sweet. But the books are about equal in my mind. comparing the charactors is a little sketchy though, the stories are completly different. harry potter doesnt really focus on action, LotR has a lot more backround.....but thats good ole Tolkien spent a good portion of his life on it.
the only good fight that was given was gandalf vs dumbledore, that would be a sweet fight.
