you people gotta stop watching so much cartoon network.
1. trigun 2. hellsing 3. berserk 4. FLCL 5. cowboy bebop
expand your minds, young ones. Get yourselves to an anime convention, they teach you many, many things.
DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho are good and fun, but there's a lot more to anime than firing ki out of your hands.

Only one(well two if you count Eva)was/were on CN.
And I don't think the Slayers is my fav ever, just watching all those tapes got me into it.
I think my 5. of all time would be Hellsing or FLCL,maybe even X...
And Shinakuma and I were at AnimeCentral last year(you gotta come to the next one with us!),but I dunno about the rest of the youngins...

well seiryuken 2 of yours were on cartoon network so i dunno what your talking about.
hey i like dragon ball cause i grew up on it back when they showed it on channel 50 on saturday mornings. plus you can't deny the fact that DBZ is for anime like the Godfather series is for live action movies. its more or less the bread and butter of anime

I knew about Cowboy Bebop and Trigun before they were on CN. I do watch cartoon network, but not a lot. Im kind of pissed at them for what they did to Rurouni Kenshin. That is NOT a kid's daytime t.v. program, and they censored the living hell out of it in order to pull in good money. They also desecrated Outlaw Star. They'd cut entire scenes out of every episode. I mean, sometimes CN ports in good shows like Trigun and keeps them intact, which is awesome. But they act like the authority for anime when they don't really know a lot about it. They see it in terms of profit.

ok yes i also knew about cowboy bebop before most of the american culture because my cousin had it imported with japanese subs many years ago. and yeh CN did butcher kenshin but they also did introduce anime to a good portion of the people who watch it now. with shows like DBZ, Gundam Wing, and tenchi which sucks. they even introduced me to Robotech over 4 or 5 years ago, which was not my first anime but one of the early years.

and in regards to the profit point, so what. can u blame people for trying to make money. your parents go to work to make money does that make them bad. and i don't think your gonna find to many companies out there that aren't in it for the money because people need to make money to survive.

Quiet thyself scott! wouldst thou stop two warriors in the heat of battle?!?!!
its fine for CN to make money off of anime, but not at the expense of the anime and the true fans of the anime.
