Since there are so many damn good songs, i can't possibly list them in a poll, so just list all of your favorites and we'll see what everybody likes.
I love Master of Puppets, as well as Welcome Home (Sanitarium) and Orion. My favorite albums are Master of Puppets and the Black album, because I really haven't heard anything off of any of their other albums except for St. Anger. I like just about every song on the Black album, so go look up the track listing online somewhere; I'm too lazy to get up and get the damn thing.
yeah.

what album is One on again?
yeah, metallica throws in at least one solo a song, and most often a lot more. No doubt Kirk Hammet (lead) is one of the best metal guitarists of all time. The reason why their new cd sucked a mountain of rectum is that they believed they have already shown their soloing talents in every record before this one, so if they take it easy people won't think they suck. Turns out, they kind of do sound old and crappy on the new one. Quite the contrary.
I like Master of Puppets, and its two solos very much. (But since it has a really nice Interlude/Solo in the middle, I almost want to count that as two just to make the count three to tie One)

I'm very fond of Enter Sandman, but haven't heard their best stuff enough to make a really good judgement.
Apocalyptica's version of Nothing Else Matters is pure musical ecstasy. Just imagine that song played on 4 cellos ... incredible. And the original is amazingly good as well.
