Okay, I just want to know everyone's thoughts on what I see as by far the greatest good times band ever.
Nothing, and I mean, nothing can put me in a good mood faster than OAR. When I just need to chill I listen to them. It's utterly fantastic.

To tell you the truth I really can't stand them.
They are just another crappy college band trying to be like Dave Matthews.I dislike them.

Does every fucking band that ever existed get it's own damn thread? I'm getting tired of these threads...
I'm not picking on OAR with this post, I'm refering to every one of these band threads.
edit: I think that every week we should have a different band of the week, and that people can have a week to make thier own band thread. That way, we won't have eleventy-billion band threads like this one. Anyone agree?

Jim... i'm sorry, but i cant stand them. All the songs have the same guitar sound. And trust me, i have tried. I've listened to 3 of their albums several times, so i've had the "getting used to" phase...and i still dont like them. There is only one song i enjoy. I enjoy it very very so, and that is:
"That was a Crazy Game of Poker"
That's it. Thank you.

Heh, Dave Matthews, a bar band everyone seems to like...
I finally know what OAR stands for, I'm pretty sure I've only heard of them on this board. And I don't think I've heard their music.
"That's not a real amount of money!"
"Yet!"

And I don't think I've heard their music. Consider yourself lucky.

i always wanted to know what they sounded like, and i still do, just so i can judge for myself.
you're right paul, there are too many. Hmm... I will look into this, but as for now.... nobody post any new band threads. any other topics that talk about bands or songs or whatever are fine, but if your topic in any way has the "do you like ___ or not?" vibe to it, it will be locked. So either get creative or get in line.

i must say
i was turned on to OAR roughly 2 years ago by my best friend charlie. "crazy game of poker" was turned into a tradition by us everytime we drove up to the station. i love OAR. the lyrics are amazing, and the bass player seriously does kick some ass.

this crazy game of poker must be a good song...everyone seems to like it It's probably there most well-known song, as you might have guessed. I love the live version they played at the State Theater in February. I downloaded it off the internet, and it's 23 minutes long. Good times.
