Just wondering.... do you guys ever listen to Pop music that's God awful?
I do periodically...well, rarely. Just to remind me why i listen to what i do. I feel thankful that there is more out there to discover.

Hmmm not really. The only 'pop' I can that I listen to is maybe Third Eye Blind, but I happen to enjoy them quite a bit so I wouldn't say they are God awful...
So to answer your question I guess no.

And yet another insight from unojuno - this guy's a freaking genius. I listen to pop music (that's God-awful, although there doesn't need to be much in the way of separation there as there isn't much that's not God-awful) only when I'm forced to, like at work. I hadn't before now considered it worth my time, which isn't worth much. I used to listen to modern country music, though, I even thought I liked it for a while, but actual good songs there are few and far between and still about the same old crap. Just a little better written/performed than the others. But like I just posted music meant to sell is depressing. Music is an art form, pop music for the most part is an insult to humanity's creativity. There have to be other reasons to create than getting money.

And I was kind in your situation, over the sumemr at work the radio would always be set to some rap.Nothing else.I would turn it off or try and change the station but it would always get back to rap. Please, don't make me relive it...The copy machine made better 'music' than that crap...

i dunno.....80's pop was neat...sometimes minus phil collins....new pop isn't really that great in my opinion i just kind of listen to things that sound good, i dont usually take the time to classify it. likr that britney spears song is really bad she sounds like some sort of odd creature and it just sort of bothers me. but meh if you guys are into that, its all good.
edit: i like seal.

depends what pop you like, because there is so much pop out there, just about everyone likes one or two songs or bands. Besides, how do you define pop? It's all too hard for me sometimes, especially being the Tunes Mod and all. Just like flamenco said, I just listen to things that sound good.

im with you dave. what the hell defines pop? i used to just classify boy bands and britney spears and such as pop, but not many others do the same. i wouldnt consider Third Eye Blind pop, its rock of some sort.
but to answer the original question, i dont listen to God awful pop music (or any God awful music for that matter) unless i'm somehow forced to. but not all pop is bad

Pop is just popular music,or that is what it means today,so pretty much anything on the radio I guess. And I too would agree that 3EB is rock, but they use to be damn popular.
