Well, let's see. They're an early 90's stoner rock band, that lived from '91 til aboot '96. Originally called "The Sons of Kyuss" the name Kyuss comes from a character in Dungeons & Dragons. They lived in the middle of the desert out West, so basically all they did was drive out 'til they were miles away from anything that could have resembled civilization, sometimes got high, and wrote music while staring out into the clear sky of the desert. Their music is a mix of grunge rock and blues, kind of like if Nirvana, Black Sabbath, and Pink Flloyd all had a three-way and as a result gave birth to a four-headed baby. They had spectacular drums, a funky twanging guitar, and they utilized their bass better than any band I've ever heard of. Their bassist Scott Reeder is bassically my bass idol. Get it, "bassically"? Ha ha! That was terrible. Anyway, their sound isn't particularly revolutionary, but it's DAMN good, which is really what counts. Three of their former members were in Queens of the Stoneage. That's about all I can think of right now, but just ask Scott for a second opinion, and then mooch off of him when he gets the cd's in the mail.

Some bitchin' hot songs to download if you can:
1. Supa Scoopa and Mighty Scoop 2. Demon Cleaner 3. Catamaran 4. 50 Million Year Trip 5. Un Sandpiper 6. Space Cadet <------EXCELLENT 7. Spaceship Landing 8. Day One 9. Odyssey 10. Asteroid (no lyrics) 11. Capsized (only 1 minute long but still one of their best) 12. Gardenia 13. Whitewater 14. One Inch Man 15. Fatso For Gotso (ABSOLUTELY FUCKING INCREDIBLE)
Those are just their best ones for starters. It's not like I'm telling you to get all of them, but try the oens that seem most interesting to you. Especially the ones I specially labeled as being totally frickin' boss. They're not in any order of goodness, or anything. Go on. Do it. Get them. Or die. Then consume lots of marijuana and listen to them again. If you so desire. NOW. Well okay, it's not like I've ever done that, but you should still listen to them. Rah.
