Techno/Electronica music!

now I know all you kids think you are too cool for techno, but really, techno is just too cool for you.

so, I want to dedicate this thread to electronic and techno music. list your favorite techno bands/whatever, and check out some of the ones I reccomend. (hah, and I wonder why no one ever reads the threads I post in the music forum)

so like, some of my favorites are
--Air (electronica, pretty good, "remember", "kelly watch the stars" and "All I need" are some good songs, especially remember...)

--Aphex Twin (techno--HELL YEAH!...get any thing by them, you guys woudl liek their video game remixies I think)

--The Chemical Brotheres (funk/techno), The Crystal.Method (kinda liek chem. brothers, but pretty good), Lords of Acid

--and they are just kidna electronica, but they absolutley rule-- The Postal Service....if you check out any of these bands, check out them...try "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight", "Brand New Colony" or "nothing better"

That's the only techno I listen to. It's not that I don't like it, it's not bad at all. What's the difference between all the divisions of techno? I've heard so many words describe it. House, trance, dance, techno, electronica, to name a few. I guess you could call me a Techn00b.

house is kidna just like funky music, trance is the typical techno its with all the beeps and stuff its usually very repetitive, dance is similarit to trance, but not as cool, its all that early 90's and 80's music and crap that is...well dance music. its liek trance but usually is somethign that a drill team would dance to. techno, is just basically a word used for electronic music in general, but is more commonly associated with trance. electronica is electronic music, but is not necessarily techno. it doesnt have all the beeps and stuff (or maybe it does) but it usually has like a singer, and not jsut random words repeated..check out some of the bands I listed then you'll know.
techno is always electronic music, but electronic music is not alwyas techno. electronic music is a general term for this whole genre and electronica is basically all the stuff that techno doesnt include. "techno" is a huge genre ...and for all of you taht say "I all techno" that is very narrow midned because you've jsut put down an entire huge genre of music, about as big as the rock genre. and come on, there has to be at least 1 rock song you like...

i think i understand. the only "techno" -ish band that I know and can name is Fatboy Slim. heh, they old.

also, check out plastikman, and older moby and paul oakenfold. they all have good stuffs

i like moby, chemical brothers( but not a big fan), daft punk, gigi d'agostino (L' Amour Toujours- i'll fly with you), bt (everyone MUST luv BT) , darude (sandstorm is my ringtone), dj sammy, basement jaxx, lasgo, i don't like Paul Oakenfold. Yeah, i bet there's more but i can't think now.

we should make it a law. You can't have sex if you haven't listened to techno.. that'll get everyone to luv it.. or maybe not
