Wow, three Beatles albums in the top 5. Am I the only person alive who thinks that the Beatles are overrated?
This isn't really a list of best anything. It should be called "500 popular sound recordings in no particular order."

yea thats pretty cool that the beatles has three top 10s.they were good music for the era and i still listen to some of their music.and alot of the other albums listed in the top 10 i agree with.

seargent peppers shouldnt be on that list...really...white album sold more, more popularity according to polls, and sold more even though it costs twice as much...
further, joni mitchells does not beat darkside of the moon, that should be top ten, and thriller...this is tottaly wack...

Yea Dark Side should be further up.
And just to prove that it is a popularity poll,Dookie was on there,a good cd?Yes.Overrated and not as good as Insomniac?Hell yes.
EDIT:
And another thing,the new No Doubt cd is higher than Smashing Pumpkins Mellon collie and the infinite sadness?What the hell...
