I like all rock, most R&B (you left it out), reggae (Sean Paul in english, the rest in spanish- you don't know what you're missing), disco (yes, I'm an odd child), indian music (before it became the new ish) and hip-hop (it's not rap-more like Missy and stuff...some rap is actually good- here's where my opinion differs). I listen to those mostly. You will never catch me listing to country, blues, or ballroom (though when I'm in the mood I'll listen to classical).

i like a lot of different styles of music. Although I don't keep strict focus on how much more I like one style over another, this is a rough breakdown of what I like, in the order I like it.
First comes the Punk/Rock category. Always a favorite. Then comes the Rock, not to be confused with the whole Punk scene. Next is Metal, good for when you're hyper. Lastly would have to be blues. I love the blues, its just that I love all the others slightly more. ;D

The Flaming Lips are not rock. They have a progressive/industrial sound that mixes in with technological and symphonic nuveau. The vocals are nothing like rock vocals and the guitar is mstly muted. Sorry William, and there is no way you listen to any songs besides "she don't use jelly"

I would put progressive and industrial all under rock, because well...they pretty much are.I would put the Flaming Lips under rock.
Also on another note, the Flaming Lips rock.

I mostly like rock. Some stuff that is in the alternative category is okay. Ballroom , i think not. I don't listen punk rock much, but some of the stuff i've heard, mostly from the more well known bands is pretty good. And rap, ill listen to occasionaly but not a whole lot.
