Meh, it's all good. The Gamecube still has plenty of life left. I don't really care if I have to wait. But I'm still willing to bet that Nintendo's new system will release before Halo 2.

So if it'll be released before Halo 2 that gives us an area between 2005-2010. I'm guessing Halo 2 won't be out for another 5 years.

Actually, GC sales went crazy during the end of 2003. The begining was pretty dismal though....
When Nintendo realized that they weren't moving hardware, they actually shut down production for a little while. Later, they dropped the price to $100 and systems sold all over the place. On Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving,) they sold a million units between the GBA and the GC, in one freakin' day.
And yes, only cool people like the GC. All those jerks don't. Lousy jerks...

WHY DO PEOPLE CALL IT THE GCN?! For Christ's sake, it's the Nintendo GameCube. Get it right. It does also seem that people who hate on it are jerks. And I think that there should be a nice long wait before a new system comes out, how much more powerful do we really need gaming systems to be? Peripherals are nice, but as we've seen with the PS2 DVD player sometimes it's best to have the real thing. Gaming systems should do what they were originally intended to do and only that, that's why the NGC is such a great system. Along with its being the best one out on the market now. New systems can wait until there's some reason for us to have them, like Sony caving and putting in sockets so people can play multiplayer. But for now, just leave them as they are, they work fine.

It is the GCN,not the NGC.NGC is already taken by Neo Geo Color,so Nintendo couldn't use it.Hence the GCN.So maybe it is you that needs to get it right. Who knows...
I heard some small, small rumors that the N5 will be backwards compatible. So that would indicate "yes." But who the hell can tell?
