I saw this, got the link from PA. Looks a little fishy to me... Nintendo said they were going to wait till E3 to anounce anything...
Doesn't look credible to me. I've never heard of this site and there is no real proof. They could have fabricated those quotes.
I'm probably wrong. Just doubtful. It's not even April 1st yet and I'm doubting news articles...

Well it looks to be a local Seattle paper site, and seeing as Nintendo of America is based out of Seattle,I think, then I think it could be true.
I just want to see a picture of this damn thing.

Its credible. I also saw this a few weeks ago on gamespot.com, and I believe them even though the two screen thing sounds very strange.

if it is not a succsor to the gamecube or gba but is something different. what is it, beside a whole new game platform. i do not understand the idea of putting out anouther system unless it is a succesor to something already out.

I guess Nintendo wants to come out with something new and innovative, to boost sales. Face it, the GCN really didn't sell much until recently, so Nintendo, being intelligent, figures they need to change something. This is certainly different than any gaming paltform out there.

Nintendo, anticipating the release of the Phantom, the new xbox, and the ps3 has put into plans to create another platform. THe game has changed. Instead of putting out games to be competitive in the market, companies believe they must create new systems. Which, when you think about it, is a good tactic, cuz they know people will buy them and systems cost more than games do.
another bad note, resident evil 4 will not come out on the gamecube but on their next gen console

Hell, at least Nintendo is doing something like this. Keep in mind that Sony and Microsoft are just software giants that wanted to cash in on Nintendo's market. Nintendo is the only company out there that devotes themselves completely to games. Videogames are the company's livelihood. If the games sectors of Sony and Microsoft weren't being profitable, they'd abandon them in a second. However, if Nintendo's gaming sector isn't doing well, the company goes bankrupt and dies. That's why Nintendo carries the true spirit of making good shit, and that's why they're trying to make innovative new stuff like this. It's not for profit, because although a single system is more expensive than a game, it is many times more expensive to make. That's why if it fails, Nintendo is canned. They are doing this because they want to. Just like the GC/GBA connectivity thing, it's not as profitable as online gaming, but it's more innovative, and that's why they're doing it. Same goes for the DS. Sorry if that was kinda long, but what the hell.

That's why if it fails, Nintendo is canned. I agree with everything you said, especailly about how Nintendo is the only major publisher still devoted to games. But I have to disagree here, Nintendo has money in the bank. And they keep their profit margins intact, they had terrible sales in the first half of 2003, and still made money. And RE4 will make it on the GC, probably some time this year. After reading the article in Game Informer, I really want to play this game. Finally, some damn inovation!
