Ok. Here goes, right now everyone is refering to the old testament. The old testament, everyone must keep in mind, is the word of God + history of Isrealites and the founding of Judaism + laws both religious and secular + descendency records. Ok, now that that has been established. All most all biblical scholars agree that "Thou Shall not kill" from both exodu, liviticus, and the part from whaterver those books state the ten commandments was refering to thou shall not kill other Isrealites. This meaning can be seen in the horrible bloody history following in the rest of the old testament. If they though God had said thou shall not kill, jews, christians, and muslims would not exist today given the nature of the other pegans at the time of the early Isrealites. Also, the Catholic Church has not been the most trustworthy or intelligent and most moralistic, but I am not sure Scott, that you know why and how that the Church was this way. I am no great defender of the Church, but don't give it a bad name just to giv it a bad name.

and an intended anything is crap...it says thou shall not kill...it means all...we sin all the time...and God is the only one who can throw the stone so to speak...(let the blamless of you cast the first stone)...so we all sin anyways...and we are not in the posistion to judge the crusades, their divinity, or the people involved...i know God tells me not to kill, and i never will, unless God tells me to kill, and i would be sure of it because the Holy Spirit in me would let me know...further, there is always an absolute right and wrong...

no, Wiliam. In the real world the is a gray area, a middle ground so to speak, between black and white. There is no absolute right and their is no absolute wrong.
If God tells you to kill someone, I suggest a powerful anti-phsychotic drug and a good shrink.

And yes, if "god" told me to start killing people i'd tell him to go sit his fat rear back on his poofy cloud and go back to just watching simpsons re-runs and eating cheetos...

well i disagree...in right and wrong, for most things, there is a black...and a white...a right and a wrong...and the grey...well it doesnt exist...its rationalization...false rationalization...

There is a gray area, anyone who says that the world exists in only black and white is dumb, niave, or both. Right and wrong can't describe everything. Open your eyes!

There is grey in almost everything. The grey area between right and wrong is when a seemingly good action is done for the wrong intent, that still doesn't make the action wrong.

and the grey...well it doesnt exist...its rationalization...false rationalization... You can't prove a negative. It's logically impossible. Just like I can't prove that the Catholic Christian view of "God" doesn't exist...

and also, you cant prove there is a grey, and i cant prove there isnt, we both pointed our opinions, and were kinda off topic, so I'd like to move it back on track...and if you want to continue this, start a thread...like "absolute truths" or somthing...
