OK, I added it just as I said I would... Here's where I'll tell ya what I know. Megaman is an old series, loved by (just about) all. Tell what ya know, ask what ya wanna know. 1st order of business: What does anyone know about Battle Network 4? I'll tell ya what I know, but I wanna get a rather funny (and true) picture ready for the post. ;D

OK, now then, in BN4, Megaman can battle a Navi until his 'soul' resonates with the other Navi's. When thtis happens, Lan has to sacrifice a chip related to that Navi's power (i.e. a sword chip for protoman) and then, Megaman will get a soul unison, which is sorta like Fusion from DBZ. THE funniest Soul Unison in the game is..... The Roll Soul...

I just remebered something that might be of interest to fans of the newer MM games and who has a PS2. In Onimusha / Onibusha :Blade Warriors (I can't remember the actual spelling) Megaman.EXE, Elec-Ground style MM.EXE, and Aqua-Bug style MM.EXE, and Zero from the GBA Zero series are all hidden characters... The CyberWorld is an unlockable stage... At least, www.planet-megaman.com/ says so, and they get their shtuff from KoroKoro. I really really wish I could afford a PS2....

Megaman is totally the sweetest invention since throbbing dildos. Some people gripe about how Megaman games have not changed, and I say that's a good thing. I still derive the same amount of enjoyment, if not more, from playing X6 as when I was playing X2 way back in the day. My favorite though was X4, with the cool anime cutscenes, especially the one with Zero going totally insane and beating Sigma's ass with a metal bar. I've yet to get X7 due to a serious case of No Money Syndrome. Long live the Blue Bomber.

Megaman is totally the sweetest invention since throbbing dildos.quote] I agree, I mean... WHAT?! but yeah, Megaman is quite sner, despite the advent of new systems with better graphics and whatnot, the megaman series is still among one of my favorites (up until 7 and X anything, poo) maybe I just have an unnatural affinity for the NES...

eww... that X7 got nothin' good. can't talk from personal experience, but... Nothin' good. It was said that Zero 2 was a better buy... Hey, Seiryuken, whaddya think of Z2's ending? Do you smell a possibility of a Zero 3? I sure wanna know who "Omega" is...
BTW... Whaddya think about the Battle Network Series? I think it's got somethin' goin for it... In japan, the last thing that was as popular was Pokemon. Rockman EXE is incredible in Japan, it's very well-loved.
Have you tried them yet?

Dammit. bad timing. Geometry class in 3 minutes. OK.
BN is more like an RPG, but there's no experience. It's really not that complicated, but its hard to explain. Megaman.EXE is your character. You walk around websites on the net (EXE is a computer program, not a robot) and fight random encounters with "viruses", like mettools or "Canodumbs"(huge artillery cannons that fire when youi get in there line of fire. The battle fields looks like this...
[][][]|[][][] [][][]|[][][] [][][]|[][][]
mega | viruses
gotta go.. geo... I'll finish this later!!!

6, I can lend you my copy for as long as you need...
OK, Eskimo, where was I?
Ah yes.. the battlefield. I'm gonna tell you what things are like in BN3, seeing as things are constantly changing in the series and solid data for BN4 won't be available for two weeks, when 4 comes out in Japan.
So, I already posted what the filed looks like. the control pad obviously moves Megaman.EXE around the field. some viruses attack using directional attacks, which can be avoided by dodging to the side. However, some viruses'll use an attack that has a wide-but-short range, so backing up is good. There are lots of different strategies for stuff like that.
Using the B button fires the Megabuster, but that's usually not good. Yasee, the standard-issue Megabuster does 1 damage, and when the everyday "mettaur"(why they aren't mettools in this series is beyond me) has 40 HP, that's really not good. Charging the MB'll get you 10 pts, but you could do that by mashing the B button, so...
Enter Battle Chips, THE most complicated part of the battle sequences... This is where the game starts plaing like Card Game. Battle chips are numerous and powerful. Your "folder" can hold 30 chips, and only 4 of each chip.
Read carefully.
You can only use a max. of 5 chips per turn, which are selected from 5 randomly chosen chips from your folder. You can only use chips of the same type (i.e. 4 'sword' BCs-you can only have four) or chips with the same code (i.e. a sword 'L' Widesword 'L' Longsword 'L') chips can have up to five codes. There's also '*' which can be used with any other chip type. Defficencies: If you use a sword 'L' and a widesword 'L', you cannot choose any other sword or widesword of any other code. If you picked those two chips, you couldn't choose a sword 'Y'. '*' chips do the same thing.
Got that so far? ya with me? I know, it's a headache, but it's easy once you get the hang of it...
OK, now let's get further into chips: they are tough. sword does 80 pts of damage, for example. But these are just regular chips. "Mega-Class" chips are even more powerful, but you can only have a total of 5, and only one of each. "Herosword" does 180 pts of damage.
Mega-class chips can also be a kind of "summon" chip. Take the Roll chip. Everything will freeze, Roll.EXE will appear, and then, attack the closest virus three times for 20pts each, or 60 pts. Then she vanishes, and Megaman recovers 30 pts of health.
Then there are THE most powerful chips out there... GIGA-CLASS chips. These babies are limited to one per folder. that's all. But they're well worth it. Take the Bass GS chip, for example. It's a summon that causes Bass to Appear and whip out this huge cannon, dealing a whopping 700 to every enemy on the field. That almost cuts the final boss's 2000 HP in half! That is really really good!
whoa, all that and it's just basic combat stuff. By accessing your folder and hitting select, you can choose a chip to appear at the begginning of every battle. Every chip has memory limits, and Megaman can't pre-select a chip with a memory level higher than the limit, but the limit can be raised via powerups.
OK, less essential (but more fun) stuff, exclusive to BN3 (BN4 has that soul system I was talking about earlier.) After a certain amount of time, Megaman will reciev the customizer. The customizer is a 5X5 grid that you plug programs shaped like tetris blocks into. These programs do anything from allowing Mega to stand on broken or absent panels to dramatically increasing the power of the Megabuster. There's a line right through the center called the command line. There are plain programs and patterned programs. plain must be on the line with at least one square, patterned blocks cannot touch it. programs come in various colors. No two programs with the same color should touch. Violating any of these rules will cause megaman to get bugged up! This could mean being pulled to the bottom or top rows, Megabuster disabled, or other such bad things... eww.
I'll post more (scary ain't it?) later.

Ugh, there's still a little more I haven't covered... OK, here we go.
I left off... where? Oh yeah, I finished up the whole Customizer thing... fun stuff.
The last thing on Battle Network (3)...
Styles!
Here are the style elements:
Heat Aqua Elec Wood
Here are the style types:
Guts Shield Custom Team Bug
A style is determined by a mix of the two (ie. HeatGuts style)
The element is randomly picked. It determines Mega's suit color ( red, light light blue, yellow-purplish, green, respectively) and alters Mega's charged Buster attack. Heat = flamethrower that goes forwar three squares Aqua = bubble shot that hits target and square behind it Elec = thunder ring that paralizes Wood = leaf tornado that hits multiple times
That's basically it for elements, they give you a special charge, but also make you take double damage from your weakness element (Heat > Wood > Elec > Aqua > Heat)
The types do something more:
Guts: Buster damage doubled, mashing B button induces rapid-fire effect
Shield: Start match with an energy shield that stops 1 hit
Custom: Start each battle with 6 chips instead of 5
Team: Put 1 more Mega-class chip into the folder
Bug: Possibly the best style, but the power is unstable. You get two glitches or 'bugs' at the start of each match. I don't know all the possible ones, but they include:
Temporary invincibility Ten chips at start of match Buster does five times the normal damage
But on the other hand, you may get...
Health drain uncontrollable movement to the sides of the field
...So you see, easily the best ups, but the worst downs. Good style, anyway...
Styles can give you programs for the customizer when you level them up. The shield style, for example, will give mega the ability to summon a 1-second shield by pressing < + B at the same time. All styles give programs that help out the already-present powers from the styles.
There are 2 versions of BN3: white and blue. In Japan, white was released as the original, while Blue (there called black) was given out once at a convention to a few lucky fans. Thus, Blue was produced in much smaller quantity here and only sold in a few stores. I don't know if you can still nab one or not, but if you see it, my advice would be to get it.
There are 5 Giga-class chips in each version that aren't in the other. These chips cannot be traded to the other version either. White = Bass, Blue = Bass +. Blue got the stronger of these chips, and while insanely hard to find in the game, it's great fun to use them on a small horde of Mettaurs, total overkill. Anyway, there is also a style type just for each version that cannot be traded (though with a cheat device, strangely enough, one can get any of the total 7 styles.
White = Ground Blue = Shadow
Ground = This style give the charged buster the ability to break panels that have enemies on them when you shoot. The programs allow Mega to change the battle field to lava, ice, grass, metal, sand, or even Holy panels. Lava burns, ice slippery, grass = nothing really, wood-types, including viruses, recover health, metal unbreakable, sand slows down movement, and holy only affects your side of the battle field. These panels half the damage you would normally recieve.
Shadow = This style's charged buster, regardless of element, will make you invisible for a short time. This style is all about evasion and single-shot buster attacks. The programs allow you to walk on any panel without the negative effects, or even on destroyed panels. Combined with the invisible technique, Megaman can dodge anything, and is unaffected by most any tricks. The last program gives Megaman the Ability to use < + B right before you're hit to take no damage, but to suddenly leap up, float in midair, and fire a few sheiryukens at ALL enemies, doing 100 pts of damage. Just plain fun, and the second reason why I like blue better.
Geez, so much... Maybe I should do a FAQ of this or something... That's what it's turning into...
Done.

In response to that post you made about Z2 before going on a BN binge..... I sure as hell hope it creates another sequel. Those two GBA installments are some of the most fun I've ever had with a megaman. Although I'm confused; when does the storyline of MM Zero take place? At the beginning it said that Zero had awoken from a century's sleep, and at the end of X6 Zero goes into a cryo sleep, and I'm wondering if that's it. I'm confused cuz now he's coming back for X7, so maybe he wakes up, then takes another 100 year nap after that, I dunno.
Oh, and Scott, long ago in times of old I lost my copy of X2, think ya could help me rekindle old time memories with a little borrowy goodness? ;D
But this question is inevitable; who would win in a fight: X or Zero? On this one I'm going to go with X, cuz he was built to be the ultimate reploid, plus he can absorb the abilites of his enemies.
