What do you girls (or guys... like how i put girls first?) think of Standardized tests like the SAT and ACT?
Which one do you like most?
Or add any other input you wish
So i just finnished the ACT. didnt finnish every single question, but did alright. I want to know where they do their time studies because i really didnt have that much time for the science portion...

i dislike standardized tests, because hypothetically you could guess on a few and get a better score than someone else who also guessed on the ones you did and got them wrong, and it could make you look better than him when it comes time for college. Plus, I don't see how a score can show people how smart you are, or how hard you work. The fact is, you can't measure skills with numbers and statistics, but you can come damn close and that is all they are basing it on. O well, guess we have to do it.
I haven't taken either of them yet, but I will soon. When I feel like it...

I think I liked the ACT better,or just did better on that one.
But those tests are a pain in the ass,gotta get up early and then take a three hour test.On a weekend.Fun.

i just took the ACT today.. God i hate them all. But it could just be because i'm dumb all around. If we posted scores I would be the lowest out of everyone. Down with standardized testing!! I made an ACT thread on "dim the lights" taht was before I saw your post. You should check it out.

The Chaun would enjoy it even more if they didn't take away from his free time.
His Chauness prefers the SAT. The ACT was a huge let down.
Where'd you take it this morning SBL? Dondero?

Took the ACT today. The test itself wasn't too shabby, though of course, getting up early and all that wasn't all that fun...

Dondero is one of the middling-yucky public schools in the Detroit area. I have several friends who went there and came out just fine. So I should say it's probably pretty good, considering. Anyway I took both, and I should say I enjoyed the ACT more, largely because I got a better score on it. Although I got the same score on both sections of the SAT as a much-smarter friend of mine. I think we may have gotten the same ACT score too, but I tend to think he got a point more than me. They were indeed a pain in the ass, but a mental challenge isn't a complete waste, especially if they make you feel smart afterwards.

i took the ACT saturday also, at Pontiac Central...yuck...
it was boring...but I finished it all...I agree there wasnt ample time for the Science portion, i had to skim fast as hell and hope i was right on some...
but about the "not able to measure smartness and stuff"...well you cant measure them, but they have to try...they dont proclaim to be perfect...but they are broadly accurate...and its the best they can practically do that they know of yet...
and i like that better than GPA...
