us.mcafee.com/root/speedometer.aspIn case you have no idea, or if you want to see how many things going on at once it takes for you to slow down to my ultra-turtle speed of 26.3 KB/s . I dunno, it seemed like a fun link at the time.

Now wait justa Goddamn minute here, I'm using a week-old computer with NOTHING saved on it yet, and the latest version of Aol. There's no freaking way I got a 22.0. That's bullshit, I can say from experience that this comp flies. Even without DSL, this sucker loads a screen faster than the old version comps at school sometimes!!!
No way, that absolutely CANNOT be correct. I think this thing's screwed up... No way a brand-new comp can score so low. Even with dial-up. grrr.

no, there were two answers, one was a smaller number (like 22.0) and the second one under it was a larger number, (the first one multiplied by 10) were talking about the larger one ,so yours was a 220

It was at like 145.72 though just from running AIM. That's pretty wacked...

funny, earlier today it got to 3000 Kbps well, I'm downwind ADSL, I can go everywhere from 512 Kbps to 3Gbps depending on regional traffic
And Nightmareboy, a. clock speed of CPU does not change DATA rate b. clock speed DOES change LOAD rate c. AOL 9.0 clocks 20-30 Kbps UNDER average providers (downgrade to 7.0) d. computers at school are networked meaning you are sharing your bandwidth with everyone else (usually means about 50 users, bad)

OK, then how is my new computer with the VERY SAME dial-up jack load at some 10X faster than the old one?
