so by saying that one religion, that your parents brain washed you into beleiving, is better than another is shit. I am not saying I do not beleive in reigion, but you can not condemn others. No one says that the pope is perfect. there you go talking about shit that you have no knowledge of. I am not trying to start shit, i just can't listen to your crap and not respond.

the pope is infallible...meaning anything he declares is God's will...thats what i meant by perfect there...
and im not condemning anyone...i can say that i believe mine is right and yours is wrong...your still cool...ill still hang out with you...nothing against you...i just say your religion is wrong...

i have a much different faith than my parents...being my dad doesnt believe in religion, and my mom believes in catholocism...

i like your use of a led zeppelin lyric there right on. but thats beside the point. you can believe in whatever relgion you want thats fine or none whatever floats your boat. the point is people should not be ridiculed for that they believe in, which is exactly what is happening to wilshire. and on the note about williams religion as a christian your supposed to accept other people your not supposed to shoot them down for being wrong. your making it sound like if someone disagrees with you about where your religion stands on the most relevant scale, then your gonna bash their heads in until they get your point which is what happened in the crusades like moroboshi17 said. basically you can't just say everyone is right or wrong because a lot of views that the christians hold important are views that coincide with religions that idolize buddha. we are taught as christians to turn the other cheek when struck or attacked by an enemy not to raise arms against them in hopes for revenge. if i am not mistaken that is along the same like that buddhists are taught to believe. in certain aspects our religions are not all that different. the biggest difference that i can see is that we worship a different diety, but as long as we follow the same rules. do u really think that our all forgiving God will strike us down if we live peaceful and just lives but we worship buddha instead of him. by saying that your saying that only christians or catholics are going to be in heaven. and in my opinion that idea is wrong and in the new testament it says that belief is unfounded, Jesus Christ himself says it. basically it all comes to down to this. you shouldn't spend your time telling other people they are wrong and that you are right. you should really try and focus on expanding your own spiritual growth and stop trying to limit others. your views of God are so close minded and limited. you should try expanding your trust and beliefs in God instead of squabbling about whos right and wrong.

Ok.Here we come religious thread...
William never said "he'd bash anyone's head in" for believing different than him,like he said,you can think what you want and still be wrong.And yes,you can say your right and others are wrong,we both said it,and we both hold it to be true.
And I belieive that only Christians are going to heaven.If you have heard the word of Jesus and turn the other way(aka not praise him)I think you are not going to be in heaven.But for those who have never heard the word,like in Africa or somewhere they will not have that put against them.
But if your Catholic you don't even beleive your going to heaven right away anyways,but that's another story.
He is open minded,but that doesn't mean he will accept false gods.He is a strong Christian and cannot be fooled like that.

I don't see how Moroboshi is worrying about what William believes or thinks. If William believes in one thing, it doesn't matter what you, Moroboshi, think or believe in response to that. It is his, and you can't take that from him.
For example, I believe we all turn into ghosts when we die, vampires are walking among us, and that Santa Claus is my Savior. Even if scientifically it is all not true, you can't take my belief away, no matter how dumb it sounds. Besides, what pleasure do you get out of it trying to argue? By saying, William, you are wrong and you should believe in this and that instead of what you do believe in, are you getting anything in return? My only guess is that you are somehow feeling higher than him by trying to order him around and believe what you want him to. If I want to believe in Santa Claus and you know he doesn't exist, by you telling me he doesn't exist, you are informing me of factual information, therefor changing my beliefs and I may feel like you saved me from some harm that I would receive if you didn't save me. That is all I can get out of that whole arguing thing. Otherwise, you are charging a brick wall with a straw for a weapon, expecting to break through. You can't force someone to believe anything.

sodomy, since you dont really "believe" any of that, you just felt like saying it, I dont think your arguements, whatever they were, shouldnt really be weighed as heavily as those of us that prefer to stay in reality and not joke around and type whatever we think is funny 100% of the time.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but is it true that the pope isn't mentioned anywhere in the bible? That he could be some ancient traditional hoax thats taken billions of people for a ride through the centuries? I've heard this several times, and recalling what tiny little bit of religion they tried to force in to me at a young age, I don't beleive I've ever heard of the pope in the bible. Just wonderin'.

Yes I don't beleive in the pope.He's a good guy,yes,but is he God's voice on earth?I think not.
In the Bible Jesus made Peter the head of the church,and he is said to be the pope.That is where the catholics get it.

Perhaps you should actually look into what Papal Infallibility is before you talk about it, since your notion of it is kinda off William. Also, how in any way is he a "hypocryt" for saying that you're brainwashed? That would infer that he too was brainwashed by his parents into believing that only one religion is acceptable, which he's arguing about.
Also, how is this in any way a serious debate if the purpose of the thread is to flame? Are we only allowed to flame seriously, because if flame is the same as hate, which you guys are making it sound like, then this thread can only be about wishing death upon another person, since that's what hate is based upon. And if THAT'S the case...
