why do poeple leach off of the anime industry? Downloading anime is stealing and not purchasing the manga you read is also detrimental to the growth of japanese culture in America. why do people do this?(besides because they are cheap) companies pick up 99% of good anime these days, so the excuse that you can't get it is crap. any comments?

Yes you should support them.And yes,stealing is wrong.

But not everyone can afford to buy everything they want.If I had every manga and anime I wanted to have,I would need a small house to house it all.

People should buy what they can and support what they love.That is how I feel.

i quit one job and the next week i found another job.and then a manager at Best Buy offered me a job because I helped him order the anime DVD's. It is not that hard if you are not a dumbass. Just go help a manager at Best Buy and get the job that I was offered.

Oh, and the key to buying anime cheaply is....and get this...you don't have to buy everything you want. That just makes you a greedy bastard. You pick a couple of shows and a couple of manga to buy during a certain period, and just buy that until you have the complete set. For instance, I may want Full Metal Panic, Samurai Deeper Kyo, and the Miyazaki movies, but I decided to stick with RahXephon, Noir, X, and Kare Kano until they're done. That way, I don't have to become a leech that downloads crap off the internet. Damn PC thugz...

L.A. is officially one of the worst top 10 places for teenagers to get a job. I have a 3.8 GPA and have been on several club councils so commitment and intelligence aren't the issue. Our economy is just so fucked up (thanks to Mr. Davis- though hopefully the terminator will fix things...wishful thinking) that places are more willing to pay an adult then adjust their schedule to yours (that's just the crap jobs, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wal-mart, and yes, even the Best Buy near my house). So I don't know how it works where you guys live but to even go job searching you have to fill out lots of forms for a work permit (which you can get at 16+).

I don't belive that it's detrimental to the growth provided that you buy things every now and then. Anime isn't cheap, and manga isn't either. If you are poor, should you still be called cheap if you can't afford it? Some anime isn't even released in the U.S. It might be licensced but the dubbing is yet to come. But if you don't like dubbed and don't want to wait a year for the next season of Pilot Candidate (rumors), it would be ok to download it or buy get it fansubbed. I did that for Inuyasha and I still plan to buy the dvds to my favorite episodes (or get it for christmas since no money is coming my way)...when they start releasing them. Same goes for the manga. I buy 1 out of every 4 manga I read which sounds pretty reasonable to me.

[Edit:] Pilot Candidate wasn't the best anime (by far) but I was just using it as an example because there is a supposed 2nd season that will have a bigger budget (believe it or not).
