I just had a kind of friendly argument with my friend about american cars and european cars. My point was that foreign cars (mercedes, bmw, etc...) are generally more expensive than american cars (ford, chevrolet, etc...), and yet people love european cars, which in fact, aren't any better than american ones.
Now i realize that opinions about favorite cars depends on the person. But European cars, esp the bmw's and mercedes are made to be luxurious, and fast and have good handling for those tight turns at 70 mph. American cars, nice ones, are meant to be nice, go fast and have good handling, but their generally less expensive too. (besides where do you need to hug turns at 70 mph in america?) So why do people always want expensive European cars when theycan get good old american cars of the same quality that are just at good at getting them around, and even look nice too?
What do you guys think?

I would think that you would support the German made cars more. That way, you could prepare the economy for wartime

All those BMWs and what not are crap.Anyone who spens more than like $30,000 on a car is crazy. They have too much money and are spending it in the wrong places.
I think it's crap, why would you want to spend that much on a car anyways? So you can be "cool"?

Thats what im thinking. But if you've got the money, all the more power to ya, i really could care less what you do with your money.
but for those who don't have hundreds and hundreds of thousands, just get a nice, and inexpensive, car.

ok you retards. european engineering is the best in the world. It clearly surpasses that of the americans. BMWs are sweet. thats all there is too it. They are safe, reliable, quality cars. yes they are expensive, you get what you pay for. You spend 20k youre not gonna get as good of a car as you would if you spend 30k. What makes a car "good" is evident when you check out the difference between something like a camaro and a bmw 3 series. Clearly a BMW kicks a camaros ass in everything. acceleration, safety, reliability and quality. Just cause its classy doesnt make it bad.

Well thats not completely true. Yeah a BMW 3 series is fast and has good acceleration - so does a Mustang Cobra, and Ford has great quality. A BMW 3 series may have pretty good crash test ratings, so does a Mustang Cobra. Both are fast, reliable, safe, and nice - very nice. I don't know the exact pricing of a 3 series but im assuming a good one is about as much as a cobra, ~ 30 k?

Chevrolet and Ford have pretty good quality. And yes European manufactured cars such as BMW and Mercedes do have good quality, but generally they cost more money that an american luxury car of the same quality. Some of that increassed cost is due to extras like gps and bose (sp?) sound systems which are featured in mercdedes a lot, but some of that stuff you don't really need, though i admit they are very nice to have.
hey! you used the word retard (you must bear hatred towards them). LOL im just kidding dude, so don't get defensive.

Well thats not completely true.... Ford has great quality. I'm not sure you could possibly make a more incorrect statement. Ford's are steel death traps. I should know, I used to own one. I think there are good american cars out there, and one doesn't have to go foreign, but some foreign cars are pretty sweet. And Gil, you make it sound like everyone in your family owns a BMW (or at least wants to).

yeah some foreign cars are pretty damn sweet, i agree.
Fords are not steel deathtraps. The ford taurus has a 5 star crash test rating in fact. I don't know where u got deathtraps from. But any car can be a deathtrap when crashed at 90 mph.

My car simply lit on fire. In the driveway. When STARTING it. I'm sorry I left off the key word in my description: A Flaming Steel Deathtrap

What kind of car is it? Do you take care of it? And just because your car lit on fire doesn't mean all Ford cars will, now does it? I happen to like Fords. Nice, affordable, and reliable. Anyone agree?
