ok...best buy is the shiznit...its cheap mostly...and they have good selections for the most part...but where ever its cheapest is where i get it...its not like a vote at all...im not concerned with the industry...im concerned with spending as little as i can for a CD...
and comparing the number of songs to price ratio is bogus...i got wish you were here...for $13...now you can get it for $10...and it only has 5 songs...an entire disc...like 60 minutes...and an amazing album...but many would say not enough songs...

i dont care where that money goes to. Well that's where we differ.I rather spend a few more bucks at a local place then a few bucks cheaper to some huge bussiness that could care less. But that's me.

It's better to spend more at the local place because they need all the money they can get. By buying a CD at Target for $9, you are (in a way) letting the local record store not make $13. you save $4, target makes 9, and the record store goes further down hill if it is.

by buying a cd for $9 at target...i am saving more money...and thus having more to spend...and thus able to buy another $9 CD at target...so...i get two CD's for the price of a CD and a pop...

Ok, so what you are saying is you are more concerned about how your local record shop (which there might be more than one of) is doing financially than what music you have? I would rather buy all the music i want for the cheapest i can find it, no matter where it is from. if its cheaper at a local shop, then hell yeah i'd buy it there. but if its cheaper at k-mart by five bucks, i'm sorry but the record shop needs to either lower their prices or spend their money on other music that will sell better. when it comes down to the music shop's needs vs. my needs, i think i come first. and swanny, don't steal, it's not nice.

Plus, I don't know of any locally owned CD stores in b'ham.

Who in the hell shops in Birmingham? It's all over priced and treny,I don't waste my time there.
Note:Tower is ok sometimes,but it's still iffy.
Oh and I guess Todd's is in Birmingham, and it is pretty much a local record store, among other things.
And if I have to spend a few more bucks to keep a indie store open I'll do it,it's for the love of the music man!
