i would like to say that the prices of cd's are rediculous it's reached the last straw.
at borders, i saw the new radio head cd and it cost 18.99 that means the cd costs over 20 dollars with tax. i looked on the back of the cd thinking it must be 2 discs. and i was horrified to see that if had a grand total of 14 songs. thats about 1.5 dollars for every song. now, call me old fashioned, but what happened to the days when cds were 12 bucks? i think that the music market needs to take a look around and see that there are so many people downloading music off different places instead of buying a cd. no, it's not because we want a bonus dvd with a music video inside or because we want a cool picture on the album cover (although that is a plus) it's because we want our cd's to be cheaper! i'm not paying 18 bucks for a cd that i may not like.
so, in conclusion the people working in the music media are a bunch of retards and should stop jacking up the price and start making cheaper albums with more quality.
Sincerly, Sean

Yes! It is gettin ridiculous how everywhere you go CD's are usually over $18 or even $20 (Though the ones over $20 usually have some kind of "bonus" added on) maybe if CD's were cheaper people would stop downloading them, though the people at the tops probably won't stop suing the people who DID download music...

borders blows. they have to pay so much for rent and all that. for a DVD that is pretty old (not a new release) it usually costs you like $35-40 for what you can buy anywhere else at about $15. I checked out the LotR movie there, like a week ago (you know, i figure its been some time since it came out two friggin years ago) and it was $30 for one friggin movie! Come on! i hate borders with a passion.
except i did find a sweet blues cd for two bucks, they have some good off-brand music at great prices, but other than that, they suck!

Look at newspaper ads, look online, or go to an independant record store. Those are all ways to save cash. Don't shop at a bookstore for cds, that would be like going to 7-11 to buy golf clubs or something...

7-11 for golfclubs? wtf?
anyways, stick to record stores for the music and bookstores for the books. just a little tip of common sense from your ol mysterious man. ;D

I see you guys beat me to it.
Yes, never go to Borders for music unless you want artsey stuff. I have always gone toindependant, non-large- chain stores. And they rock. Every once in a while you have to pay $16 instead of $13 because you are supporting the buisness itself from dying because of huge corporate chains.
I attempt to NEVER shop at Target or any store of that sort Since they dont care about the music you listen to, but your money and what is popular. They dont know anything about music, nor small bands. They only wish to sell what they know they can sell, and that's Pop.
I usually dont buy a CD at any corporate store, even if it's cheaper. I dont care if it's $9 at Target and it's $14 at Record Time. I wish to keep the frendly, smart people at record time in buisness. By spending money at target, i kill them, and that is just not right. Esp. since they have a much larger selection.
Tower is nice because it carries CDs that you cant normally find. They too are dying because of Wal-mart and Target. I support Tower (even though it may tend to be expensive) because it is selectively Music with a little DVDs and Magazines. They have one joint-goal, and that's music and movies.
Long live the small record shop. And thank you for reading my rant.

yeah, i kinda disagree with ya will on the price thing. i buy wherever it is cheaper, no matter what. i dont really think my one purchase is going to make that much of a difference. although the prices are rarely cheaper at a bigger store than at record time or something. and damn best buy and their gift cards! i spent my $25 card on one friggin dvd. i'm pissed!

i dont really think my one purchase is going to make that much of a difference. That's like saying that 'it's only vote,it won't matter',but it does.Every purchase counts.

yeah, i see what you're saying scott, but its kinda true. I'm not gonna waste two or three dollars on every cd that i buy (which would add up pretty quickly) just so target doesnt get fifty more cents. i dont care where that money goes to. as long as i buy it in a store, some of the money is going to the band, and that amount is up to the record company and the store to work out, not me. more money means more records, and that works for me.
