I have to agree with Mark. I won't give you a long, detailed autobiography, but if LP's anything like me, they were poked and prodded for way too long, and just took it all in stride. I'll tell ya, keeping a cool, unaffected appearance is the easiest thing to do, but anger builds inside...
LP just likes to vent it out, that's all... Although, maybe it's just my imagination helping out, but it seems to me at least a few of their songs have a pretty specific basis. The scenario, however, is always them blasting the person they're pissed at after the straw that broke the camel's back. The thing that that person does to piss them off is almost always different.

Ok, they took years to become popular, not months. Their first CD wasn't that ever-so-popular Hybrid Theory that you are thinking of, in fact their first CD barely sold any copies. Don't assume that because you know a little fact about them now, (that they are popular) you are now an expert on Linkin Park and who they really are.
I don't mean to sit here and defend Linkin Park because they are my favorite band, because I don't like them as much as I used to, but I still have to defend those that need defending.
Linkin Park's lyrics come mostly from what their lead singer went through during his life. Alcoholism, drugs, and I think he was even molested as a child were the cause of his depression. The band helped him get out of his depression and now when he writes, that's what he goes back to. They don't make it up, they don't fake anything, and I don't see why you have to attack a band you know nothing about and don't even like. The only reason I can see anyone attacking them is for their simplicity in music. Their lyrics are anything but simple or unoriginal. On the other hand, their bass and guitar are one or two bar riffs that they play throughout the whole song and rely on the DJ to provide the variety.
