oh.....and we are not gonna lose this war in iraq. All the liberal news puts out is how we are losing men and appearing to have no hold in Iraq, which is bullshit b/c we are killing and capturing terrorists every day. But all thats left are small groups of people fighting guerilla styel, so its a hard battle but we can do it. It might turn out like Vietnam where we didn't lose but had to pull out b/c of the lack of support by the public. What we're doing in Iraq is improving water and electricity, and setting up a democracy that can survive on its own. It needs our help for now, and until we kill every damn terrorist we wont stop

I have friends in the army and two of them are in iraq right now and in the letters they sent they said that there have been like 290 soldiers killed since the war was over we've lost more soldiers after the war than when we were actually fighting.

Im the only one thats on the fence i guess. i say that because when i go up to vote, im not gonna just vote on a guy because hes repub or dem, im gonna vote for who i think should run my county, state, city, or country. If I had to pick though, Republicans seem the best choice for me. I hated clinton and gore, and I was an extreme supporter of bush.

Ahem. I couldn't have said it better myself. And I don't believe in war so any war we are in I am not in favor of. A simple question of which I mean no personal harm... What do you mean don't believe in War? To not accept war is to deny our inherited history. Yes, sometimes wars may be fought for the wrong reasons or a war should not have occured at all, but at times war is neccesary. To not wage war sometimes would mean to put your way of life in danger. The freedoms you take for granted. Be oposed to war for reasons. Just don't say I don't believe in war becasue its war.

i guess i see what you are saying. But some people think there are other ways around war. For instance, Saddam is building nukes. We say let us in so we can see these nukes and if we find them, we will get rid of them. He says get the hell out. We say ok, if thats the case, we will bomb you until you give up. And thats how a war is born.
Some people like to say that war can be avoided by reasoning and debating. If that were so, there wouldn't be any wars. But its not true, sadly. Sure, I'd like it if there were no wars and everyone got along fine. But the truth is, some people are so stubborn and want to keep doing their own thing, despite how wrong it is just to show they are so bad-ass that they can do it. War is a last resort. And to avoid attacks, I don't mean that about EVERY war. I'm sure there was some small basically insignificant war that I have never heard of that someone will mention just to show that not all wars are last resorts and all other options have been attempted at. I am just covering the major ones, and in general. War, in general, was meant to be a last resort.
And I kinda do believe that war is good, in the sense that it is a radical movement to change something that is obviously very wrong. But on the other side, I don't support war for the killing and damage it does to people. Confusing topic...

very true, as the world's foremost superpower i feel we have an obligation to protect people murdering despots. that was a large (though certainly not the only) reason for the korean and vietnam war. that was one reason for getting rid of sadaam. as for soldiers, i hope as much as the next person that they come back safely; but they are soldiers, this is their job and they knew it when they joined

Where's the "None of the above" one? I'm not political at all. It's just on rich, white, corrupt Texan asshole to the next. Neither Bush or Gore deserved to run the country, but for God's sake, who in the name of Shit would actually vote for that fucking ape? Why don't we just elect a first grader? He/she'd be just as intelligent as Bush, but at least the kid wouldn't start a war just to impress his daddy. You think you could do better? Regardless of your political alignment Gore or Bush would have been qualified to run the country. However, come to terms that George W. Bush was elected president. Bush has college degrees and ran an oil company quite well. He quite intelligent, just as much as Al Gore, Clinton, or Regan are. Also, look in the United States Constitution Article II clause 4. It states that a person must be a natural-born citizen and at least thirty-five years old. Also President Bush had ligit. reasons to go to war. In the case of Afganistan, the master-mind terrorist Osama bin Laden was headquarered there with the majority of his fellow terrorists who dilibratly implemented the 9/11 attacks. In the case of Saddam Hussain and Iraq, there was strong indication of weapons of mass destruction, his brutal treatment of his country men, the terrorist training camps inside Iraq, and Saddam's support of other terrorists. I would have been proud to have voted for George Bush.

lol amen.
Another thing. "War", as someone once so eloquently put it, "is hell". I can't say for myself that i understand it, b/c the only people who do are those who have seen it first hand. But one sure thing is that war will always happen. Even in time of peace (there is no true peacetime, only relative peace) there is conflict going on somewhere to maintain that peace. Its a sort of irony, but conflict maintains the [relative] peace.

I'm gonna have to go Republican on this one. I don't believe in much that Democrats say and many of them need to get their priorities and morals in order.
