As long as we have had games, there have been those special people that have tried to accomplish crazy things within them. Recently, someone finished Metroid Prime in 1 hour and 37 minutes, with all the items and pickups. Don't believe me? Go here: planetquake.com/sda/mp/Anyways, has anyone here ever accomplished anything like this? The closest thing I ever did to this would be finishing the first three Metroids (NES, GB, SNES) in enough time to unlock the "good" endings. Also, beating Resident Evil (GC) in 3 and a half hours to earn the Samurai Edge (the strangely-titled semi-auto pistol.) That doesn't even compare to the guy that beat the original only using the knife and walking backwards...

Yeah it was under 2 and a half hours. The tofu block's awesome only a cb knife. I also though that special recognition is due to the people who beat the facility in Glden Eye under the time to get invincible mode. Took atleat a hundred tries but I got.

To tell you the truth it was easy. The only thing I was scared about was my Genesis burning.I left it on for over a week,I'd play an hour a night or so and leave it on until I was done.
That thing was HOT when I was done.

A friend of mine tried to max out the old Tetris on GB. But after about an hour, the speed got so fast that you could barely see the blocks move. Scary.

How about that one in Final Fantasy 9 where in order to get the most powerful weapon you had to reach the end of the third disk in 12 hours. I played through twice, and my times were around 30-40 hours, but I took my time with those. I wasn’t actually trying to be fast or anything. Still, pretty crazy.

Liek, can you tell me in a bit more detail how to get the Space-Jump boots first in the game? You did tell me at school, I know, but c'mon, you were rushed, I was rushed, and you were way too vague for the advice to be of any practical use. I want to try it, just for the hell of it (I'm bored til I can think up a scheme to get me a Neo Geo... I need a scheme cause I'm always broke...)

Here you go Miles. After the game's intro, Samus's Gunship lands. In the first room of the game, do the following. 1) Navigate yourself to be on top of Samus's Ship, on top of the Right Turbine (left if facing the ship from the front.) Make sure you are standing as far to the back and right as possible without falling. 2) Use the Scanner to lock on to the plant all the way on the other side of the area. You won't be able to scan it as you are out of range, but it doesn't matter. 3) The moment you lock onto the scan, perform a dash-jump to the right (silutaneously press B and quickly move the stick right), and at that moment, release the L trigger to lose the lock. If performed it perfect timing, the Dash Jump will propel Samus almost parallel to the ground. If doen right, you will land on a small platform, high enough to go to the room contaning the Space Jump. From there, the Chozo Ruins can easily be "cheated," as you can skip mini-bosses by jumping over them, and get items that you aren't meant to get right away. Sequence Breaking is fun. If my instructions suck, which they probably do, go here: www.samus.co.uk/mprime/sj_first.shtml . You get a full explanation and a movie of the feat being performed. It only took my 28.8 modem about 2-3 minutes to download. Note: I have done this trick, it does indeed work with a little bit of practice. Its much easier than the Triple Bomb Jump...
