how conservatives are against abortion but for the death penalty
here's the question that's be rattling around in my noggin
many if not most conservatives are against abortion...true?
yet many if not most conservatives are for the death penalty.
please justify this...what makes the taking of one human life who is sinful ok while the taking of another sinful human life is not?

that's because
ABORTED BABYS DIDNT DO ANYTHING WRONG so they shouldn't be killed, it's not their fault now is it?
while
PEOPLE WHO COMMITED CRIMES should have the death penalty. They broke a law and took someone's life.
Do you like talking about your liberal views? I was just wondering sorry, because you like to talk about it a lot.

ok, here's the straight truth from a hardcore conservative (well, not hardcore, but pretty stiff) ok, why abortion is bad: First of all, a fetus is a human life, it is biologically, because the first cell has a full compliment of chromosomes. This is not religion, this is science. Second a child's life IS sinful, from original sin, but a child has not done any actual sin, or committed an act. This is why capital punishment is good First of all, God supports it Second, for all you people who don't think that's good enough, if someone kills someone else, they forfeit their own life in the act of taking another. They did not respect another person's life, so we should not respect theirs. They killed someone with full knowledge that they could pay the ultimate punishment for it.
Ok, i'm done with my rant

Wait, so its perfectly fine to kill someone who has already sinned, but not someone who WILL sin? It's not like that fetus is going to grow up to be perfect you know. Also, whatever happend to the whole FORGIVENESS thing in the bible?

Wait, so its perfectly fine to kill someone who has already sinned, but not someone who WILL sin? It's not like that fetus is going to grow up to be perfect you know. Also, whatever happend to the whole FORGIVENESS thing in the bible? I would never say that its perfectly fine to kill somone who has sinned, but if you think all people need is forgiveness and can continue their lives, you're an idiot. I think that abortion is wrong because the aborted child is having its life taken and it is innnocent of any crime. Capital punishment isnt based upon sinning, its based upon committing a serious crime. If it was sinning that determined capital punishment, we'd all be screwed. This is not a topic concerning forgiveness-people on death row can be forgiven, the fact is they are facing the set consequences for their own actions, which no one forced them to commit-this is a issue concerning Justice. Whether you agree or not, under the American government, both are legal, but in my opinion, abortion is unjust. there you go swannizzle

someone said that a fetus is a human life, therefore aborting a fetus is like killing a life, which is the defense many people use, but not all.
A baby isn't considered to be a baby until 9 to 10 weeks of pregnancy.
So according to that, aborting a baby before 9 to 10 weeks isn't like killing a human.

I see your point but I dunno man, I still think of it as alive before then. Some people argue that since it cant live on its own outside of the chicky then its not a living human yet, but hell, like really fucking old people cant live on their own either, they have to have all kinds of machines and diapers but no one approves of killing them off (well ok no one in the government).

I don't think that the old people thingy was a good example becuase once upon the old person could do things on their own. They were just subjected to human laws- getting older and getting weaker. That makes them pretty human to me.
A pre-fetus was never human becuase like you said it can't survive on it's own and also it never displayed human characteritics. It didn't have a heart, no lungs, didn't look human.
